The Lawrence Pollack Foundation is a private family foundation that raises funds to support existing charitable organizations. It was established in 2017 to honour Lawrence Pollack, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Lawrence was a practicing Lawyer in his home country of South Africa, but it was his entrepreneurial spirit, business savvy, leadership and humour that helped him earn the respect, admiration and friendship of everyone fortunate to know him. Beyond business, Lawrence’s values were deeply rooted in a belief that we all have a responsibility to give back to our communities.
With his passing, the Foundation was created to continue his philanthropic legacy and to support organizations close to his heart.
For over 20 years, Camp Ramah has offered an overnight summer camping experience for Jewish children ages 12-21 with special needs called the Tikvah Program. The goal of this program is to provide these children with the same summer camp opportunities as children without disabilities by participating in daily camp activities and day trips. Tikvah campers spend time each week participating in vocational opportunities, with an emphasis on developing and improving their independent living skills.
Money raised from the Lawrence Pollack Foundation Golf tournament will support camp Ramah in Canada's scholarship program for campers who have special needs (Tikvah Program). The Tikvah program is an integral part of the camp program and has a profound impact on the entire camp community by teaching all campers the values of diversity, acceptance and inclusion.
